Ferns, Ivy, Oak, and Ginkgo leaves, seed pods and acorns all feature in the silver and gold designs, lovingly hand made by artist jeweller, Stephen Roper, in his studio, at Simcha Gallery, on the balcony level at Leeds Corn Exchange. Nature’s beautiful forms and textures are evoked using traditional metalsmithing techniques to make rings, bracelets, pendants and earings in his signature style, free flowing, and organic designs.

For 20 years, Stephen has been making exquisite Wedding and Engagement rings, design collections such as Wild Wood and Moon Shadow, and, upcycling his customers’ heirloom jewellery, to make fresh new designs.

Alongside Stephen, artist designer-maker, Anne Roper, creates beautiful abstract, nature inspired art cards and art pieces. Multi layered and mixed media, her designs incorporate free embroidery, paint, beading and collage. She also makes felted Shetland wool berets and wraps to snuggle up in.

The little gallery is filled with ceramics and art glass, by leading UK makers, whose love of nature is reflected in the tactile forms and textures of their designs

Visit the gallery for inspired and imaginative gifts this Christmas.
